The rate card
Glass prices per square metre
A piece is charged at the rate for its glass and thickness times its area, with the minimum charge applying to small pieces. Toughening is added per piece. Holes, cut-outs, polished edges and delivery are on top and are priced in the configurator.

No hidden margins
Glass pricing questions, answered straight
What decides the price of a piece of glass?
Area first: the price book carries a rate per square metre for each glass type and thickness, and a piece is charged at that rate times its area, with a minimum charge on small pieces. Then the extras you choose: toughening, polished or bevelled edges, holes, cut-outs and shaped corners each add a fixed amount the configurator shows line by line.
Why does toughened glass cost more than ordinary (annealed) glass?
Toughening is a second process: the cut and finished piece goes through a furnace and is quenched, which makes it around four to five times stronger and safe to break. It is charged as a per-piece surcharge on top of the glass rate, and every hole and cut-out has to be finished before toughening, which is why the order of work matters.
Are these prices the ones I would actually pay?
Yes. The table is our live retail price book and the examples were priced by the same engine the checkout charges from, so they match to the penny for the pieces described. The price at checkout is the one that binds, and approved trade accounts see their own rates instead.
Do the prices include VAT?
Both are shown. Every figure on this page appears inc. VAT at 20% and ex. VAT, so a homeowner and a VAT-registered trade buyer can each read the number that applies to them.
Is delivery included?
No. Delivery is priced by zone at checkout, by our own van across London and by courier further out, and collection from the branch is free. The configurator shows the delivery charge before you pay.
How quickly can cut-to-size glass be made?
Plain cut pieces are usually the quickest; toughened pieces take longer because the furnace runs in batches. The configurator shows the current lead time for your exact piece once you have chosen the size and finish, and the workshop confirms it on the order.
